Climate Change
Climate Change
Though common, this post is not about global climate issues.
Instead, I'm going to briefly explore what Leadership, Team, and Business climate mean.
In brief, Climate is about how you feel about what you do, how you do it, and the conditions in which you operate. If you feel like you have a considerable amount of autonomy and bi-direrectional Trust, plus you enjoy accomplishing tasks or projects, you probably operate in a pretty good Leadership Climate. These Climates don't just happen, though. They take a lot of effort and focus.
Like rain and heat are indicators of local climate conditions, stress and anxiety are indicators, too (as are inspiration and dedication). High stress comes with some careers. Ideally, though, those stressful conditions have more to do with the 'what' the career is about than the 'how' tasks get done or the people involved.
If you wonder whether or not you're in a Clear Leadership Climate or a Toxic Leadership Climate, consider these factors as a starting point:
1. Are the company's Values communicated commonly and consistently?
2. Do you have a voice? If you offer input is it considered and honestly evaluated? The inverse matters, too. If your supervisor manager offers you input, can you honestly consider it?
3. Do you see and experience progress, whether in the value and quality of the business and products, or in your own career (or both!)? Development and progressive encouragement are vital to a stable and strong Climate
These are just three concepts within the Clear Climate Leadership model. We are barely scratching the surface! Do any of these characteristics ring a bell, or are they missing or broken? Whether you're an individual looking to grow your knowledge and Leadership skills or you want to rebuild and revitalize a Team or Business Climate, our systems and guidance will provide even more keys to success and strength in your career.
