ClearSight Leadership & Strategy
Peek in the Window
Career Highlights at a Glance
Led 200+ officer candidates through career transition to senior U.S. Army roles; alumni now command brigades and boardrooms alike.
Architect of Progenitor OSINT Platform, integrating global data, 50-state geodatabases, real-time economic and influence tracking, and psychohistory-inspired risk modeling.
Fortune-100 GIS Lead built and led an enterprise GIS program supporting supply-chain optimization, regulatory reporting, and live risk monitoring.
Co-Founder, Leadership:Evolution, blending wilderness expeditions with executive strategy sprints—because spreadsheets don’t build resilience, mountains do.
Billings-based professional strategist, former Army officer, and lifelong geospatial sleuth. I founded ClearSight Leadership & Strategy to help organizations trade seat-of-the-pants guessing for data-literate, trust-rich decision-making. Twenty-five years of GIS, twelve years in uniform, one obsession: turning potential into kinetic advantage—on mountain trails, in boardrooms, and across global OSINT maps.
From Recon Routes to Board Maps
My leadership story began in places where GPS blackout drills were a Tuesday and “winging it” wasn’t an option. Twelve years as a U.S. Army and Montana National Guard officer taught me that clarity saves lives; it also saves companies. Whether guiding a reconnaissance platoon or orchestrating disaster logistics, I watched teams thrive when purpose, data, and trust lined up like grid squares on a military map.
A Geospatial Detour (That Wasn’t a Detour)
Leaving active duty, I traded Kevlar for satellite imagery, spending the next decade-plus as Senior Geospatial Analyst for a Fortune-100 corporation. Picture thousands of live data feeds—sales, weather, shipping lanes—turned into dynamic maps executives could digest over morning coffee.
The lesson? Strategy is geography multiplied by timing.
Enter ClearSight
In 2022, I founded ClearSight Leadership & Strategy to offer that synthesis to firms poised for growth yet constrained by what I call “playing to play.” We bring two tools others seldom combine:
Geo-powered foresight—ArcGIS, OSINT, and proprietary risk models that reveal where the puck is headed.
Human-powered follow-through—workshops and outdoor immersions that cement trust, delegation, and disciplined initiative.
Clients range from high-tech startups scaling supply chains to government agencies wrestling with protest intelligence. They share one goal: win without losing themselves—or their talent—in the process.
Guiding Principles
Data informs; people decide.
Trust is the only shortcut worth taking.
Strategy without execution is just an expensive fantasy; execution without strategy is an expensive mistake.
Off the Map
When strategy talk pauses, you’ll find me climbing switchbacks on a road bike, stalking Montana trout, or reading philosophy near a cosy campfire. Because every leader—and every organization—needs a trailhead where fresh thinking begins.
